Partner-hosted assessment flow (participant)
When an assessment is hosted through a partner platform — such as an LMS, a hiring portal, or a job board — the candidate's experience differs slightly from the standard Skilladder invite flow.
How it works
Instead of receiving a Skilladder invite email, the candidate accesses the assessment through the partner platform — usually by clicking a button or link within the partner's interface.
The assessment itself runs on Skilladder, but it may appear embedded within the partner's website (in a frame inside the page) or open in a new tab depending on how the partner has set it up.
What to expect
| Moment | What happens |
|---|---|
| Opening the link | A storage permission prompt may appear (especially in Safari) — the candidate must allow it to continue |
| During the assessment | The same assessment UI as the standard invite flow, including the connection status bar and automatic answer saving |
| If the network drops | Answers are saved locally in the tab and sync when connectivity returns (see Taking an assessment) |
| After completing | The candidate is usually redirected back to the partner platform |
Common issues
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Blank screen or the page won't load | Storage access is likely blocked. Ask the candidate to open the URL in a new tab as a standalone page (not embedded), or try a different browser |
| "Token invalid" or "access denied" | The access link has expired — the candidate needs a fresh link from the partner platform |
| Status bar shows Offline for a long time | Check the candidate's connection. Answers are buffered in the tab; ask them to stay on the page until Connected — answers synced before submitting |
| Submit button stays disabled | Usually waiting for reconnect sync. Confirm they are online and the status bar returned to Connected |
| Nothing happens after submitting | Gather the original URL (with personal details removed) and the approximate time; escalate to #producttech_cooking |
| Questions about data ownership or branding | Partner integrations operate under their own data agreements — route to the relevant Success contact for that programme |
