Company administrators & staff
These are the customer-facing roles — people running Skilladder for their organisation's workforce programmes.
Company administrators (primary administrators)
The primary administrator has the broadest access within their company. They can see and do:
- Dashboard — summary metrics for their organisation (assessment completions, trends, recent candidates)
- Assessments — full list of assessments; can create, edit, preview, share, and export
- Templates — full access to the template library for their company
- Candidates — directory of all candidates who have taken assessments at their company
- Skills — taxonomy explorer for skills, roles, and job families
- Account settings — profile management, plus the Team tab for inviting and managing staff
Everything is scoped to their own company. They cannot see other companies' assessments, candidates, or data unless they also have MCA access.
Company staff
Staff are extra team members provisioned by the primary administrator, with permissions tailored to their responsibilities. Each staff member's access is controlled by toggles the primary admin sets in Account Settings → Team.
| Toggle | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Create assessments | Build new assessments (wizard, JD flow, CSV upload) |
| View results & analytics | Access the Candidates directory, results data, and exports |
| Invite candidates / share | Send assessment invites and share access links |
| Question bank (browse) | Open and search the Question Bank (read and use, not edit) |
| Manage assessment templates | Create, edit, and manage assessment templates |
Staff who have no toggles enabled can still sign in but will see a very limited view of Skilladder. Staff viewer is a read-oriented variant — useful for auditors or observers who need visibility without the ability to make changes.
:::tip When a staff member can't do something
Almost always one of these toggles is off. Ask the primary admin to check Account Settings → Team → Edit access for that person.
:::
Key thing to know
Only the primary administrator (or a Platform admin) can send team invites. Staff may be able to see the Team tab depending on their permissions, but only primary admins and Platform admins can invite new people. See Team invites & permissions.
