Team invites & staff permissions
Goal: Add colleagues to your company account, manage their access, and set domain restrictions for invites.
Who can do this:
- Invite, resend, and remove team members: Primary company administrator or Platform administrator
- Edit staff permissions: Primary company administrator or Platform administrator
- Set allowed invite email domains: Primary company administrator only
Company staff members can open the Team tab but cannot add or remove members.
Before you start
- You must be a primary company administrator or Platform administrator to perform any of the actions on this page.
- If you're a company staff member who needs their own permissions adjusted, ask your primary company administrator.
Open the Team workspace
- Click your avatar or user menu in the top-right header.
- Choose Account Settings.
- Click the Team tab.
If the Team tab isn't visible, your role doesn't include team settings access.
Restrict invite emails to specific domains (primary admin only)
This prevents team invites from being sent to email addresses outside your company domain.
- In the Team tab, find the Allowed email domains for team invites card (only visible to the primary company admin).
- Enter domain names separated by commas, for example:
acme.com, subsidiary.org. No@prefix needed. - Click Save domains.
- Watch for the confirmation or error notification.
Leaving this field empty means any email domain is allowed for team invites.
Invite a new team member
- In the Team tab, click Add Team Member.
- Fill in First name, Last name, Email, and select a company Role from the dropdown.
- Submit the form.
- The new team member receives an invitation email:
- New user → they follow a
/team-invite/[share-id]link to set a password - Existing Skilladder user → they receive a notification email and can sign in directly
- New user → they follow a
Resend or remove a team member
- Find the person's row in the team table. Pending invite rows show the invite's expiry date.
- Click Resend invite to send another invitation email to a pending member. (Do not click it repeatedly — there's a delay between sends.)
- Click the trash icon to Remove from team, then confirm in the dialog.
Edit a staff member's permissions
This lets you control which specific Skilladder capabilities a company staff member can access — beyond what their base role includes.
- Find the staff member's row and click the pencil (Edit access) icon.
- The Edit access dialog shows these toggles:
- Create assessments
- View results & analytics
- Invite candidates / share
- Question bank (browse access)
- Manage assessment templates
- Adjust the toggles and click Save permissions.
:::info What these toggles do
The role shown in the Role column comes from your company's directory (e.g. Admin, Viewer). These toggles layer additional Skilladder-specific capabilities on top of that role label — they are independent of each other.
