Open a public preview link
Goal: Review an assessment as an external stakeholder using a shared link — no Skilladder account required.
Steps
- Open the full URL exactly as shared — do not trim or modify it. The link must include the
?token=part at the end. - The page loads a read-only view of the assessment questions.
- You will see a preview label or banner — this view does not score responses and is for review only.
Error messages and what to do
| Message | Cause | What to do |

| Missing preview token | The URL was truncated when copying | Ask the sender to resend the full link, or request a new one via Create a public preview link |
| This preview link is invalid, expired, or has been revoked | The 7-day TTL passed, or the sender regenerated the link (which revoked the old one) | Ask the sender to generate a fresh link |
| Page loads but shows no questions | Valid link but the content pipeline has an issue | Contact the assessment owner and ask them to escalate to #producttech_cooking with the assessment ID |
| Generic load error | Network issue or temporary outage | Refresh and retry; escalate to the sender if it persists |
