Deploy an assessment to Match

Deploying an assessment to Match creates a live kitchen assessment on the Match platform using all the question bank questions attached to the Build assessment. Once deployed, participants can take the assessment directly on Match.

Who can do this

Platform Admin and Directory Admin only. The deployment panel is hidden for all other roles.


Steps

First-time deploy

  1. Open the assessment (/assessments/[assessment-id]).
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll to the Match Platform Deployment section at the bottom.
  4. The panel checks the current deployment status automatically.
  5. If the status shows not deployed, click Deploy to Match.
  6. Wait for the panel to confirm — on success it shows:
    • A green Deployed to Match confirmation.
    • The access code (a short alphanumeric code participants enter on Match to access the assessment).

Re-deploy

If the assessment has been updated (questions added/removed) and you want Match to reflect the latest version:

  1. Return to SettingsMatch Platform Deployment.
  2. Click Re-deploy to Match (shown when the assessment is already deployed).
  3. This overwrites the existing kitchen assessment on Match with the current question set.

Access code

After a successful deploy the panel displays an access code. Share this code with participants — they enter it on Match to start the assessment. The code does not change on re-deploy.


Error states

If deployment fails the panel shows the error message. Click Retry to attempt again. Common causes:

  • The assessment has no questions linked from the question bank.
  • A transient connection issue between Build and Match.
