Account Settings — profile
Goal: Update your Skilladder profile details (name, avatar, contact fields).
Who can do this: Any signed-in user can update their own profile. The Email Providers tab is only visible to Platform administrators — see Email providers tab for that workflow.
Before you start
- You must be signed in. If not, see Sign in & first session.
Steps
- Click your avatar or user menu in the top-right header.
- Choose Account Settings.
- Stay on the Profile tab (the default when Account Settings opens).
- Update the fields shown — name, avatar, and contact fields depend on your organisation's configuration.
- Click Save if a save button is present. Some fields save automatically — watch for a success or error notification.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | What to do |

| Account Settings is missing from the menu | You may be in a participant-only shell. Check Capabilities matrix. |
| Session expired when you try to save | Sign in again at /signin, then return to Account Settings. |
| SSO profile fields are read-only | Your organisation manages those fields via your identity provider — contact your IT or HR team. |
What happens next
Your name and avatar appear on assessment cards and candidate-facing communications. No further action is needed after saving.
